Before I got into the craze of photography, we travel a lot lighter. Nowadays, I have one baggage of its own. And it is real heavy too.
On weekends, I sometime took both cameras out. As I don’t feel it safe to leave them in the car (due to heat and theft), I had to lug that bag everywhere. So during meals and shopping, I had to carry a heavy backpack due to the habit of wanting the ‘security’ of having a camera on hand.
When we go for outstation trips, then it means an even heavier bag. In it, there are:
- One Konica Minolta Dynax 5D DSLR camera
- One Konica Minolta Z3
- One zoom lense for the dslr
- One wide angle lense for the Z3
- Battery charger for the dslr
- Battery charger for the Z3
- Card reader (‘cos my notebook only reads SD card and I have one CF card too)
- My notebook and its peripherals
- Tripod
- Extra battery for the dslr
- Extra two sets of batteries for the Z3
- PL filters of various sizes
Sometimes, I wish I can just live with one tiny compact camera. Then, it will be much less lighter and snazzier.

Me too. 1 DSLR, 3 lens, 1 prosumer, 1 PS, all their batteries and chargers and the external flash and tripod during vacation. Like a soldier going to war.
I have a stronger and bigger shoulder now.
