Torn between Nikon D40 and D80
by Lilian ·
I go to a few regular camera shops and after a while, they sort of know my husband and I. Like what sort of photos we take, what standard of prints we produce and our financial situation.
Well, they know we don’t print money, i.e. And they know we like to play around with cameras at the same time. So, recently, we got hooked on Nikon D80 colours and love the camera a lot. However, all three shops told us that the D40 produces equally good results and is only half the price of the D80.
So, for the last three days, both my hubby and I had been pondering over this.
Nikon D40 is RM2.1K
Nikon D80 is RM4.2K
The hubby scrutinized the facts and figures of both models. As for me, my mind is made up. It is either the D80 or no talk.
Many suggested the D200 but I don’t think I need that level of camera. So, what say you?

Hahahahaha, you better hide kenrockwell page from your husband.

Well, if I have the money, I will take his suggestion to make the D40 my second DSLR. Then use the saving to get 18-200mm VR. D40 is a little chilli padi. Since you have the pink cuties, you don’t want to carry extra weight. 18-200mmVR let you shoot under dim light.

Or get a super wide angle lens if you shoot landscape and indoor often(the result is marvelous). But zoom is pretty fancy
