Beautiful tropical setting

03 Mar

If I am in the travel industry, I think I will organize wedding packages for Americans and Europeans. There is nothing more beautiful than a tropical setting for a wedding. No doubt the sun is extremely hot, the deep blue sea, swaying palms, beaches and other tropical sceneries will make a wedding memorable.

Maybe, I will throw in other packages like golfing and spas for honeymooners too. Those rich families can fly their host of relatives to the island and have their own holiday while attending the wedding.

After all, who needs shopping holidays when they can easily do all their shopping online? If I am them, I will prefer to go for a leisure holiday in a slow pace minus the crowds. With so many golf courses in my island, I am sure it will attract a lot of golfers too.

Talking about golf, if you are into it, you can easily get golf clubs or golf shoes without going to the shop.

So, what do you think? Will my travel packages sell?

Personalized your greeting cards

02 Mar

The other day, I took a few hundreds of photos for my niece-in-law’s wedding. Then, I made a video clip with several songs and burned it into a DVD to be played on TV.

My sis-in-law family was terribly happy with the DVD because they haven’t have a chance to look at the photos taken by the professional wedding photographer as he was hired by the groom side. Some of the photos are really nice and I asked the bride if she wants to make them into personalised cards so that she can use it as Thank You cards to the guests.

I told her that companies like PS Print Printing can turn those beautiful shots into low cost but nice quality postcards. It will be a good keepsake for her friends as they not only get a thank you note, they also get to keep a picture of her memorable day.

In fact, I like the idea of postcard printing because it is certainly a good way to make use of those beautiful shots we have. When we go for holidays, we can use the scenery shots as postcards. If we have a new baby, we can use the baby pictures as birth announcement.

The possibilities are endless. Just hop over to find out how you can turn your photos into personalized greeting cards.

Next gadget – Video camera

02 Mar

I just completed my course on Video Journalism and Video Editing which are part of the Citizen Journalism course sponsored by Malaysiakini.

After comparing the video clips I shoot with my digital camera and the quality of a real vide camera, I am dreaming of owning a real, professional video camera.

I just hate the ambience sound and that ‘hollow sound’ produced by my digital camera. It spoils a good video everytime.

Therefore, I am going to work harder and make enough money to buy myself a video camera that has output, input whatever put so that it can be hooked to a condenser mike and capture great sound, great picture each time.

Let me go back to my dream of becoming a one-man show producing documentaries and news clip.

Acobay sounds like echobay

20 Feb

Acobay is a brand new and unique social network site.
My friend knows I am hooked to my social networking group and told me about this service call Acobay. I went, “HUH? echo bay?” She joined recently and urged me to follow her so that we can keep each other updated.

From the look of it, the site is like Facebook with Ebay thrown in. Sometimes, it is useful to be connected this way because we can get the opinions on a product from other unbiased, real users. Like for a movie review, we can sometimes get all sorts of contradicting feedback from people. So, with these network of people, we can actually gain more info.

If you have plenty of time to spend online, do check out the service. People who likes book can find a section for book review. And if you are looking for cameras, you may find some users there to guide you too.

Video filming course

20 Feb

DSCF0003

This February month has been most hectic to me because I am currently taking the course on citizen journalism which includes writing and also video filming and editing.

The course is held on weekends and the time is from 9am to 5 pm. Usually, on Saturday evenings, we have assignments to complete and submit on Sunday morning.

Last week was video filming and I had a fantastic time listening to the sifu of video filming, Mr. Teoh. He formerly works in the Government TV station and now, he imparts all the skills to us.

Now, I begin to see TV documentaries and news differently and sometimes, I am over critical! I no longer see news as news but composition, lighting, framing, panning, floating.. bla bla bla. VLS, CU, etc etc.
