I cannot get enough of taking photos of nutmeg mace. Nutmeg mace is the reddish, lace like thing covering the seed of the nutmet. It is the most lovely thing ever. The fresh nutmeg is sliced open, revealing the mace and seed. The flesh of the nutmeg can be blended into a very refreshing nutmeg juice.

The mace and the seeds have uses of their own. The mace is much sought after in Western cooking as well.
