Nikon Coolpix L4 – crisp, clear and fantastic photos

I played around with my son’s friend Nikon Coolpix L4 and the photos quality make me wanna go out and get one.  Maybe a newer model.

This is the macro mode taken with flash.  Usually, my camera has problem with using flash when taking macro shots.

Under extreme bright sunlight, macro mode.

The camera has 4 megapixels and yet when I enlarge this the little bubbles on the shell still looks very clear.  Fantastic.  I am now seriously considering getting one for my kid.  I guess this model is rather cheap now that Nikon has new models.

Don’t you just want to touch the wet sands?  I took some shots of the kids and the photos are soooo nice.  I like the skin tone and the way the object/person stood out from the background.  I read that Nikon has the:

However, the night shots are not that impressive and I can’t get decent photos without flash.

    The nikon compacts are good at daylight. They are very good at macro as well. My men uses the nikon compacts for field work. Very reliable but we trash one every 1-2 years. They average 200-300 shots a day. The nikon can also take bumps and drops.

    We tried and tested numerous brands of cameras but the nikon tops it all when it comes to macro shots.

    My personal cameras were all Nikons. From film till digital.

    Terence – I saw the L3 advertised for only RM699 with 1GB SD card (I wonder if the SD is fake?). Will probably go look-see over the weekend ‘cos my kid is demanding for one ‘cos the big bro got his K750. Moreover, he doesn’t want my prosumer cam ‘cos it is really too big for a 14 yrs old. See? That’s why people say don’t have too many kids. Poket koyak.
