My weekend wedding photography adventure
by Lilian ·
I am going to attend my niece’s wedding in Melaka and really, really look forward to the thrills of yet another wedding photography session.
During my nephew’s wedding last year, my photos using Konica-Minolta Dynax 5D turned out pretty good. In fact, when compared side by side with the professional photographer’s photos, I didn’t do too bad either. Well, the reason is because I know who are our relatives and hence, captured all their photos, much to the delight of my sister. Whereas, the professional photographer took the photos of everyone, strangers included and my sister found that not as thrilling. Moreover, I found it quite annoying to see photos cropped with head chopped off, hands cut off and etc.
However, my only gripe was how to not over-exposed the bride’s white gown during the church ceremony held at the gardens of the posh Cyberview Lodge. I found many of my photos turned out with the bride’s white gown glowing.
To prepare myself for this round of photos, I have read up extensively from books, magazines and even the internet. So, if you are interested to read, check out this wedding photo tips for amateurs.
I know I am going to enjoy the trip because Melaka is so rich in heritage and we are staying at a boutique hotel which is an old heritage building turned into a hotel. Well, that is, if I recover well enough to travel by Saturday. *keeping fingers crossed*

Hope you enjoyed your time in Malacca. It’s a good place for black and white photography too with the pre war buildings (if and only if you can avoid the air conditioner outdoor units. Anyway, you will still enjoy Malacca and the food =)
