How to avoid webhosting mistakes

by Lilian ·

Two nights ago, I wasted two solid hours doing nothing but correcting my mistakes. My church website is hosted on Windows NT and it is like dinosaur. My own blogs and websites are all hosted on Virtual private server so I am so used with the convenience plus the ease of usage with the cpanel. With the church one, there is no cpanel. And I made the big mistake of changing the Wordpress permalinks, causing all the blog posts broken.

Thank God the blog is empty and has only test posts or I will be dead. I forgot that I cannot make changes like that because it doesn’t overwrite automatically. I need to go back to the wp-config.php and correct my mistakes. Being a noob, I messed up further.

So, if you want to get your own wehbosting, please make sure you read this post ‘How to avoid webhosting mistake’ found on this webhosting blog. Do learn what is a VPS, what is CMS and all those webhosting lingoes. You can find out more on this webhosting blog, explaining to you what are those webhosting terms.

I just mentioned on my personal blog that I have been blogging for four years. My involvement in building websites started from free Yahoo geocities. Then, when I started blogging, I use blogger and now, I have my own VPS and shared hosting. Not bad for a four year old blogger, right?
