Digital Camera – Malaysia’s hottest photography magazine

22 Apr

There are magazines. And there are giant catalogues disguised as magazines. I have subscription to three magazines (, Flavours and Malaysian Women’s Weekly) and will grab some off the shelves whenever I am bored or the magazine title captured my attention.

Once in a while, I buy those UK published magazines which are chockful of pracitical photography tips. However, the downer is such mags cost a bomb. They can be as expensive as RM40-RM50 PER mag. Therefore, it has become a luxury for me.

Moreover, overseas magazines go with their four seasons. During winter and autumn, the tips are almost unusable. I can’t find different shades of falling leaves nor snow covered mountains to capture.

Therefore, I am terribly pleased today because I found a copy of Digital Photography Magazine, Malaysian version at only RM8. An almost similar copy, published in UK is RM32.50. They have almost the same tips, with plenty of mat sallehs professional photographers articles and it balances nicely with our Malaysian content. Woohoo!

After flipping through the pages, this will be my regular read. See? I even pimp it with my kickass DSLR. Like my lenses? ;)

They have plenty of camera care tips, latest gadgets, lots of beautiful shots, how to enhance photos with Adobe Photoshop, tricks and tips. The magazine also come with a free CD which containts tutorials, filters and Photoshop lessons.

There is a section on their selected top ten SLR cameras. My Konica-Minolta Dynax 5D is in the list too. And nyek, I love this statement “It’s (Konica) better than Canon’s 350D in build and handling, with less obvious lense distortion” (Canon owners, don’t hate me. I just don’t like Mawi.)

Here, take a look at the mag again (and admire my long lense :) ) and go grab yourself a copy. Remember, the title is Digital Camera Magazine. Don’t get rip off with another title which the bookshop placed side-by-side. That other one has almost nil photography tips but lots of catalogues plus measurabators.

And no, I don’t get any freebies for pimping this magazine. It is really that good and worth a mention.
