Still no wifi everywhere

17 Oct

I hate hate hate being kept waiting. If not, by now, I will have my Sony Ericsson P1i that comes with unlimited broadband usage. I will not need to bring my laptop along and I will be blogging merrily from every where. But the master said to wait because he said it is foolish to spend an extra $1.2K.

So, wait I will. Now, I need to bring my stupid laptop along to a trip the mountains and beach. I know I could just disconnect myself from the world wide web but it means losing like $1-2K for the five days I will be away. It doesn’t make sense, right?

Damn, I am so pissed. And you, you know who you are, stop rubbing in with P1P1P1P1. Otherwise, when I get my own P1, I will spam your P1.

Do you want to get your cellphone unlocked?

15 Oct

A lot of people I know are using the iPhone and I heard they have the phones unlocked for a fee. If you ask me, I won’t dare to take the risks because I am awfully careless with my gadgets and I spoil them easily. I do not want to end up with no back-up service should my kids or I damage it. But then, there is a certain thrills in owning something before others do. So, I guess these guys really enjoy having an iPhone when the rests of the pack still cannot get their hands on them.

So, let me share with you about this company unlocktotalk.com where you can get your GSM cell phone to work with any service provider worldwide. However, note that the newer models are not available for unlocking yet. I tried to search for unlocking for the iPhone and the phone that I am planning to buy, i.e. the new Sony Ericsson P1i and they are not available.

Here are the benefits of unlocking the phone which I copied from the site :

Benefits Of Wireless Phone Unlocking: Unlocking a cell phone allows a consumer to keep their current phone while changing service providers. Cell phone service providers put a lock on cell phones that only allow them to work with a sim card for their network. All GSM mobile phones are made to work with any GSM sim card in the world but the service provider lock blocks all but their own. There are thousands of cell phone owners who travel out of the country and need to use their phone, including those serving in The Military. They cannot use their phone overseas unless it is unlocked. In order to use a phone with a different service provider it must be unlocked. Unlocked cell phones have a higher value than locked cell phones because they can be used with any network, as opposed to the limitations of one.

However, they have the codes and various methods to unlock other phones to make it available for use across service providers. They do sell IMEI unlock codes for T-Mobile, Cingular, ATT, Rogers, Fido, BlackBerry, Motorola, and Nokia. They have unlocking software to unlock most phones and advertise locations where people can take their phone to be unlocked or reprogrammed. In addition to GSM phones they also reprogram most CDMA cell phones for Verizon, Sprint, Qwest, Alltel, Metro PCS, etc to be used with Cricket or any other CDMA service provider.

Of course, the locations are limited to the United States only and you can call them toll free at 1-800-891-0625. So, if the service may help you, do call them up at the phone number given or walk in to their various stores. You can find all the locations from the link provided for unlocktotalk.com.

Which is the better broadband – Celcom or Maxis?

08 Oct

My poor little phone right now do not have internet access. It cannot even receive MMS or anything. I am only using a prepaid DIGI and did not activate anything because it is just a temporary thing.

My friend, Samm has both Maxis and Celcom broadband, plus Streamyx and DIGI Edge. She is a freak, I know. She told me that Maxis speed is better than Celcom.

I was almost decided on getting Celcom but now, what she told me is making me hesitating. I am going to subscribe to the unlimited use and hope to hear from users. But I guess not everyone is a freak like Samm who has all the services to compare.

Anyone? Which is better? Celcom or Maxis?

Woohoo..I am going broadband everywhere

23 Sep

I hope by tomorrow I will be getting my Sony Ericsson P1i with 3G and unlimited broadband from everywhere. This is something that I have been wanting for a long time. I think the only reason I haven’t get connected 24/7 was because I am unsure how these things work.

However, looking at my blog buddies who are connected all the time, I guess it is not that too difficult to manage. Why do I need 24/7 connection? Well, timing is crucial and often, when we get alerts about money opportunities, we need to log into our account, reserve the work and do it within a certain time. Normally, there are plenty of time until we reach home or have access to our laptop. What we need is to just making reservations and that can easily be done through our 3G phone.

Now, I need to learn about push mail, blogging from Flickr and so many things. I am so excited!

Sony Ericsson P1i vs. Sony Ericsson K850i

21 Sep

I have almost made up my mind to get the Sony Ericsson P1i this September 24th. My niece’s boyfriend who works in Celcom told me it is confirmed that I can get the package I mentioned in my earlier post. However, I know the K850i is coming real soon as well. Therefore, just to be sure that I don’t regret my purchase, I decided to make a comparison of both models.

I am taking the screenshots and am going through some of the few points. I do not know the price of the K850i but I believe it will be comparable to P1i which is RM2,288. I had the K800i previously and had lost it. If the K850i is anything like that, I don’t think I will enjoy it because I found the K800i rather ‘manly’.

In terms of look, I like the P1i because it is slim and the white colour makes the phone less ‘manly’. But the SE850i comes in blue and green (which I think is still very dark colour).

I have tried the SE P1i and like the feel of it in my hands.

The far right is the SE850i. PIi has touch screen and QWERTY keypad which will make blogging and receiving mails easier for me. I am serious with blogging and internet connection because I need to get connected often. However, I notice SE850i has HSDPA while P1i doesn’t. I am still confused with all these terms but I am signing up for the Celcom unlimited use broadband so it won’t be a problem for me. I can get Bluetooth connection with my Sony Vaio.

P1i has a host of stuffs suitable for the businessmen (and bloggers like me) whilst SE850i has less features.

SE850i wins in the camera section because it has 5 MP Sony-Cybershot. My SE800i has 3.2 MP Sony Cyber-shot and it was great in taking macro shots and everythings. So much so that I do not need my Nikon P4 P&S whenever I go out. But I am still going to get the P1i because I need the phone for its connectivity rather than camera function as I already have so many P&S and DSLR cameras.

So, yeah, I am going to pick the SE P1i over the SE 850i. I am impatient and hate waiting.

As for my current S500i, my kid can have it.
