Canon Powershot A640
by Lilian ·
I have always wanted a camera with a flexible viewfinder so that I can get down UNDER grass blades. You know…sometimes, there are bugs and funny looking spores or monstrous looking mushrooms low on the dirt ground and the only way to capture those odd angles is to lie flat on the earth. So, if one doesn’t fancy getting dirty, the only way is to do test shots or to get a camera with a viewfinder that you can twist and turn.
So, when I see the advertisements for the Canon Powershot A640 with 10 megapixels, I was like, Oh God….I want that camera but I have absolutely no excuse to buy it because I already have two cameras right now. I can only go on dreaming and wishing then.

Creativity, quality and flexibility in classic Canon PowerShot style.

The price quoted in the paper is RM1,599 and I suppose it will be a few hundred bucks cheaper.
Meanwhile, I have to ditch all my plans to buy a macro lense for my Konica-Minolta DSLR because the waiting time is too long. I have asked every single shop here in Penang. Hmmm..maybe I will spend the money meant for the lense to get this camera. Of course…not.

I’ve been eyeing this mainly because of its swiveling LCD. Like you, my hubby is no expert at taking my portrait ;-(
But, the downside is, this camera is too bulky to be part of my everyday handbag. I’ve already got a bulky Olympus 730 (I bought few years back). I’m looking for something slim.
Until I got more money to burn, I’ll have to stick to my original intention of getting a slim thing for my handbag.
