Canon EOS 400D / Digital Rebel XTi

Sometimes, I feel like kicking myself for not getting the Canon EOS 350D when I was searching for a DSLR. Then, again at that time, it was sort of over-rated and I do not like being part of pack. I couldn’t hold the Nikon 70s because my palm wasn’t big enough. :P So, I ended up with Konica Minolta Dynax 5D. It is a very good camera and I love Konica colour than Canon. I found Canon’s colour a little jaded, i.e. too true to the real thing. I like my photos vivid. My only gripe now is the problem of getting the macro lense I want.
Anyway, I just want post that dpreview has come up with the detail review of Canon EOS 400D.
This new camera follows the design of the EOS 350D, being very compact and relatively lightweight but not compromising on manual controls or in-use performance. The headline changes are another two megapixel step up (to ten megapixels), the nine-point AF sensor from the EOS 30D, a new dust removal system which includes anti-static surface coatings, low-pass filter vibration and software based dust removal pattern removal. Less important but just as noticeable are the removal of the status LCD, replaced instead by a camera settings screen on the now larger 2.5″ LCD monitor and the eye proximity sensor just below the viewfinder to turn this off when composing your shot. Oh yes, I have one problem with these new range of DSLRs. I had tried Sony Alpha and found those auto sensor focusing, or whatever you call it damn irritating. At first, I wasn’t aware about this feature and when my eye blinked, the focusing went crazy. For several minutes, I wondered whether it was me or the camera that has problems.
:P :P The lenses went in and out and was totally out of control. Duh!
